How much do car dealer video ads cost?
Dealer video ads cost three things: making the videos, the media spend that puts them in front of shoppers, and someone to run the campaigns. Vendors bundle these differently, so compare the total per month and what it covers, then divide by the units that got an ad to get your cost per unit advertised.
What are you paying for?
Every quote comes down to three buckets. Some vendors fold them into one number and some split them out, so ask for all three.
- Production: Filming, editing, or building the videos, and rebuilding them when prices change
- Media: The ad spend that goes to Meta, Google, or TikTok to show the videos
- Management: Targeting, budgets, swapping out sold units, and reporting
What do agencies charge?
Dealer video agencies usually sell a monthly package. Of three agency pages we checked, two don't publish a price. One agency we checked lists packages that start at less than $1,000 per month, with a 60-day minimum campaign. When you compare quotes, ask how many units get a video each month, whether media is included, and how long the minimum term runs.

How does VinScroll price it?
VinScroll charges a flat monthly fee, quoted on the call. That fee covers the videos and running the campaigns for every unit in stock. Media is separate and runs at cost in your own ad account, so you see every dollar Meta charges and the account stays yours. It runs month-to-month with no minimum term.
How do you tell if the spend is worth it?
Divide what you pay each month by the units that got an ad, and you have your cost per unit advertised. Then divide media spend by the VDP views the ads sent, and you have your cost per VDP view. Put both next to what your listing sites and other vendors cost you per car.

Common questions
Should media spend be included in the vendor's fee?
It is easier to judge if it is not. When media runs in your own ad account at cost, you can see exactly what went to the platform and what went to the vendor. When it is bundled, ask how much of the monthly number actually reaches Meta or Google.
How many videos does an agency make each month?
It depends on the package, and two of the three agency pages we checked don't give a number. Filmed video takes a shoot, editing, and approvals, so it comes in batches. One agency describes monthly on-site shoots and a content calendar. Before you sign, ask how many units on your lot get their own video each month.
Is there a contract?
Usually, and the terms vary by vendor. One agency we checked lists a 60-day minimum campaign. VinScroll runs month-to-month with no minimum term. You still sign a short agreement. Whoever you pick, ask what the minimum term is and what happens to your ad account and videos if you cancel.
